About Us
Paper Daisy Therapy + Consulting.
We’re so glad you’re here.
Our mission is to support people with mental health difficulties as well as help individuals to heal wounds from the past. We provide holistic care and evidence-based tools for improving your wellbeing and preventing your past from controlling your future.
Our Philosophy: Paper daisies, also known as everlasting daisies or strawflowers, are native Australian flowers. We believe that similar to how plants thrive when they’re grown in conditions suited to their unique blueprints, humans thrive best when they are able to nurture their unique neurological, emotional and spiritual blueprints. Trauma, mental illness, stress, disconnection, grief and loneliness stunts our ability to thrive. However, with support it is possible to re-emerge and blossom.
Elizabeth Holmquest
(She/Her)
Psychotherapist/Mental Health Social Worker
Elizabeth has worked for nearly 10 years with people from all walks of life including those involved in both youth and adult criminal justice systems. She works at the intersection of neuroscience, psychology, social justice and spirituality to help people create meaningful change in their lives.
Our Values
We don’t do band-aid solutions
Learning “coping skills” can form an important part of therapy, but it’s only the beginning. We’re here if you want to take that journey to deeper, more restorative work.
We practice non-violence
We will never impose an agenda or our goals on your healing timeline or assume what that looks like for you. We trust and honor that you have everything within you already to know how to heal. Our job is to show you how.
We are evidence-based
We use treatments that science and research tells are effective for people in supporting them to improve their mental health.
We take a holistic approach
Your presenting symptoms are more often than not, messages that carry important information. We will take the time to learn from and listen to what they are trying to tell us.
We include the body
We honor the body and nervous system as sources of important information in your healing journey.
We honour the whole person
We also recognise that complimentary methods and spirituality are important in supporting people’s mental health if these things are meaningful to them.
